Culture Note

Culture Note

Generally quid pro quo conditions, or give-and-take relationships, are common in many countries. However this is not the case in Japan. In Japanese culture it is desirable to give without expecting to receive. Japanese enjoy and respect selfless service. For example, there is no tipping in Japan.
